Hyosung’s Xanadu and PET Bottle selected as world-class products

At a ceremony held on January 20, Hyosung’s Xanadu (a highly flexible polyester) and technology for multi-layer PET bottles with good barrier properties for oxygen and carbon dioxide were selected as World-Class Products by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE). Xanadu ranks as the world’s No.3 in terms of market share. The technology for blocking oxygen and carbon dioxide inside a beer PET bottle is used to keep beer fresh.
The MOCIE-selected World-Class Products are those judged to have the potential to join the world’s Top-5 products in their specialty areas within 5 years. MOCIE provides various support for businesses whose products made the list.
A total of 7 Hyosung products, including the aforesaid two, have made the list.
