Hyosung wins the government-sponsored 5MW offshore wind-power generation project

-Eligible for government investment over the next 4 years as an offshore wind-power generation system developer

Hyosung was selected as a lead business in the sector of wind power-related technology among the eight strategic items of MOKE-sponsored New and Renewable Energies Project. The Company will be supplied with 50 billion won from the government and the private sector over the next 4 years concerning the development of a 5MW-class offshore wind-power generation system in connection with the MOKE plan to invest a total of 8.5 trillion won in relevant production facilities and development of complexes by 2012, including 252.2 billion won in the development of relevant technologies over the next 3 years.
Looking at selected subjects, LG Electronics was selected for the development of the technology for the production of low-priced, large-spaced silicon thin film solar cells; Hyundai Motor for the technology concerning fuel cells for transportation; Samsung SDI for the technology concerning fuel cells for power generation. The Company is expected to be the world’s 5th business to develop a 5MW-class offshore power generation system under MOKE’s project..
