Hyosung Research Institute Is to Cooperate with ETRI for Solar Cell and Core Process Technology

The Hyosung Research Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ETRI for cooperation and technology exchange in the fields of R&D and testing concerning solar cells and modules. It is to activate thin film solar cell technology. The Hyosung Research Institute and ETRI agreed to share manufacturing and test technologies and to co-operate in exchangeable technologies related to solar cells.
Especially, the Hyosung Technology Institute plans to co-develop core process technology and secure original technology and thus commercialize next generation CIGS thin film solar cells which are in its early industrialization stage worldwide. The institute also intends to make high efficiency solar cells and reduce module cost, and thus lower the solar cell’s cost of electricity generation to the level of other energy sources.
