2008.11.18

    - Dioxin Emission Is Controlled under 10% of Environmental Regulation Level

The resource recovery facility of Hyosung Ebara Engineering at the Incheon International Airport received the Minister of Environment Award in the category of enterprise at the 13th Incheon•Gyeonggi Environmental Prize Award Ceremony. The resource recovery facility at the Incheon International Airport, operating since 2001, was selected for the award because it applied a new technology to preserve the environment and to reduce air pollutants in the Incheon region. Besides, it improved the environment in the local community by installing a high efficiency facility and applying a waste heat recovery facility to save energy.
The facility is highly appreciated by local citizens as it controlled the emission of dioxin, the most problematic material in a waste incineration facility, less than 10% of the legal limit. The plant incinerates and treats wastes derived from the airport and its rear service complex as well as municipal waste and sewage in the area. The heat generated in the incinerator is recovered and supplied to its own resource recovery facility and to a subsidiary facility. It is acknowledged as a successful model of a basic environmental facility as its commitment to environmental improvement resulted in enhanced relations with local residents.
The Resource recovery facility at the Incheon International Airport will do its best for technology businesses and to raise human resources matching its technology.
