Hyosung joined a group of 26 conglomerates to participate in a corporate social responsibility festival, which was hosted by the Federation of Korean Industries for two days from October 17 at the Seoul City Plaza. Participants include companies such as Samsung, Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, SK, Posco, and 17 non-profit organizations, including the Korean Red Cross, and ChildFund. The festival, held under the theme "Happy Virus – Corporate Social Responsibility is Happiness," was organized to enhance public awareness and understanding of CSR by accurately communicating activities and efforts of social contributors, including companies, non-profit organizations, and public administration.
Chairman & Group Chief Executive Officer S.R. Cho, who serves as the FKI Chairman, said, "Companies are gratefully proud of having the chance to make contributions to creating a society of shared prosperity in the belief that they must contribute to the society to which they belong," noting that he hoped that the festival will serve as a catalyst for spreading happiness across the society through sharing.
Hyosung operated promotional booths, under the theme "Eco Friendliness and Social Contribution," at the Seoul City Hall Plaza. The exhibit attracted enthusiastic responses from visitors, as it effectively introduced the Company's social contribution activities over the past years, while Company staffers gave away 2,000 pinwheels to visiting guests.
