- Expected to cut cost by 1.3 billion won per year
A ceremony was held on June 23 to launch a steam generator at the Seongam Incineration Plant in Nam-gu, Ulsan metropolitan city, which signed a contract for steam supply with the Company’s Yongyeon plant. The new facility has begun production and supply of steam in earnest. At the ceremony, Moon Sam-young, head of TPA PU, signed an Ulsan City-Hyosung contract on the supply and use of steam at TPA PU Yongyeon Plant 2. The deal will permit the Yongyeon plant to replace bunker C oil (13,000 liters per day) used to generate steam for use in the plant with steam supplied by the Seongam Incineration Plant, allowing the Company to cut cost by more than 1.3 billion won per year.
The Yongyeon Plant plans to cut fuel cost additionally in tune with expanding fuel consumption, acquire rights to carbon dioxide emission by cutting green house gas emission, and earn financial gains from green house gas reduction, while helping improve air quality.
