- Makes list of "100 Top Technology Development" picked by Ministry of Knowledge Economy
Hyosung's PTT material that has been successfully commercialized has been picked by Ministry of Knowledge Economy as one of the "100 Top Technology Development" in the category of items that are deemed to enhance Korea's mid- to long-term industrial competitiveness. The booklet of exemplary commercialization cases is a compilation of carefully selected projects that have made huge technological success and had strong economic impact among new technology development projects that were successfully completed from the second half of 2007 to the first half of 2007.
Hyosung spent six years from 2001 to successfully complete the development of PTT-based carpets, and began their commercial production in 2007. The PPT-based carpets boast high elasticity and are contamination-free, and thus effectively overcome shortcomings of conventional carpets. To develop the products, the Company used conventional facilities for nylon carpet production, and applied production technology for BCF made of the PTT material, weaving technology, dying, and post-processing technology. Banking on the new outstanding PTT carpet production technology, the Company has launched new PTT carpet products, and is now spearheading the global market.
The booklet has been complied based on technology, commercial viability, creativity, and pioneering spirit through in-depth evaluation by a panel of experts in respective fields, including machinery and materials, biology and chemistry, electric and electronics/information and telecommunication. It contains case studies of success stories of 100 companies.
