Operates summer tutelage for elementary students from low-income families in Seoul and Incheon areas
The HQ employee club, Good Friends (GF), participated in “Wonder-Pool Outdoor,” a summer session program of the Let’s Share Hope School 2010.
The sessions were given jointly by the NGO Good Neighbours (GN) and Hyosung for three weeks (Jul 26 - Aug 13) inviting elementary school children from impoverished homes in Seoul and Incheon areas to outdoor water-play events. At the pool located in Gyeonggi Province, 101 children, 22 GF members and 20-odd GN volunteers participated in the program. This event is hugely popular among candidate children who reportedly looked forward to the day of the outing for weeks. Grouping with the youngsters, GF members enjoyed the water play and pool and assisted in the children in having jolly, safe summer-time fun.
** Let’s Share Hope School: A summer camp for elementary school kids from low-income families in Seoul and Incheon areas. For three weeks, 1,641 students participated in the camp, spread among 57 elementary schools. Hyosung sponsors the program with expenses while GN runs the camp.
