The Outstanding Korean Service Quality (SQ) is the only government-led service recognition program available in Korea. Initiated by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) in 2001, the program implements a rigorous evaluation by a panel of experts in related industries and academia. It includes site inspections, customer evaluations and unannounced visits. Awards are given to businesses with outstanding service and customer satisfaction ratings
One of the special qualities SQ has recognized in Hyosung is its 300-odd member consulting group, where specialists diagnose the operating quality of its customer contact center, advise on how to establish service-enhancing strategies and help offer customer-tailored operating plans. The group also provides contact-center staff training and research (the only such service available in the industry), develops its own training programs and strengthens overall professional competence for CS enhancement via internal and external monitoring and satisfaction survey. In addition, the company has received good reviews for its distinct social contribution programs, which include advantages given to applicants with disabilities and support for them via special facilities. It also includes several job-creating initiatives for those less privileged in the community. Also, the evaluators gave the company good reviews for its effort to establish superior quality innovation systems, such as promoting a special consulting group and operating a customer complaint improvement TF.
