New facility to produce 36,000 tons per annum, No. 1 spot in local market
The Gumi Plant announced its plan to build a polyester fabric production facility with annual capacity of 36,000 tons, or 3,000 tons on a monthly basis. The planned expansion to the present Gumi facility will cost the company a total of KRW 50 billion by 2011. The new plant is scheduled to begin its operation sometime during the 1st semester next year. With the expansion complete, Hyosung will secure its monthly production capability of 12,000 tons, as well as holding its status as a leading textile manufacturer.
The present expansion scheme is meant to respond aggressively to the increasing demand for polyester fabric in recent years and aims at satisfying customers keen on having custom-tailored functional fabric suited for outdoor purposes and eco-friendly trends.
The scheduled completion of the Gumi facility will help the company respond more actively to the needs of the local customers. It will also help us make a faster entrance into the European premium fabric market.
