PG employees visit the community’s less fortunate, helping with home improvement
On May 17th, in celebration of Korea’s Family Month, 15 employees of our Ulsan Plant paid a visit to Mr. Lee Gi-jin, a senior citizen living in Hwajeong-dong, Dong-gu in the City of Ulsan to extend their volunteer efforts for home improvement in the community. For Mr. Lee, who lives alone and suffers from frailty and mobility difficulties as well as financial strains, the volunteers cleaned the house, re-applied the wallpaper and replaced the flooring. The Hyosung Red Cross Volunteers, the club to which they belong, regularly gets involved in community outreach programs, actively participating in community engagement by doing home improvement for community residents. Additionally, they clean out areas near the Taehwa River and Jangsaengpo. In addition, the club does a wide range of volunteer work, such as supporting daily necessities for single-parent families in the community, providing aids to the families during holidays and rendering guide services to help host events for the disabled.
Many employees of Ulsan Plant, including its manager (Mr. Cho Chun), plan on continuing to offer assistance and care to community residents in need.
