Changwon Plant shared happiness by donating ‘donating rice ‘ for Chuseok
Sharing warmth with needy neighbors
With Chuseok, Korean traditional Thanksgiving, just around the corner, the employees at Changwon Plant carried out the 1-person 1-account campaign to help the needy. They collected 500 20kg bags of milled rice and delivered them to Changwon City (450 bags) and Gunbuk-myeon (50 bags) on September 15. The ‘1-person 1-account campaign’ of the Changwon Plant was voluntarily started by employees back in 2007. Funds are raised every year from those employees who submit applications. In particular, the matching grant program was introduced in 2010 and ever since, the company has been donating as much money as is raised by the employees. The size of love has been enlarged as much. At the ceremony for delivering the rice, Changwon City said heartfelt words of gratitude regarding our voluntary donation for the unfortunate during the economic recession. They asked for continued interests in the needy neighbors in the local community. Changwon Plant is planning to continuously engage in social contribution activities to share warmth and love with the less fortunate in local communities, thus ensuring that all its employees will take part and make donations for needy neighbors at the end of the year.
