Eco-friendly LED booth with 9 local clients displays environmentally-smart products
For three days starting on March 10, Hyosung showed off some of its environmentally-friendly new products at the 2010 Preview in Daegu (PID), held at the Daegu EXCO. The flagship items displayed at the event include Regen, Mipan Regen and Creora Eco lineups.
Regen, Hyosung’s green-friendly polyester brand, offers products made of recycled yarns produced from PET bottles — the first of its kind in Korea. Compared to other conventional function-enhanced fabrics, Regen products help revolutionalize energy consumption and reduce the company’s carbon footprint as well as maintain superior quality. Mipan Regen, our nylon yawn brand, is the world’s first brand offering products made from recycled fishing nets. It is a green-friendly brand that helps reduce the use of fossil fuels as well as protects the marine ecology. (In April 2009, both Regen and Mipan Regen acquired the global recycle standard (GRS) certificate awarded by the Control Union, the prestigious company that hands out international environmental accreditation.) In addition, Creora Eco, Hyosung’s eco-friendly spandex yawn brand, was on display at the fair, showcasing environmentally-smart functional products manufactured via an innovative low-temperature process. The offerings are capable of reducing carbon emissions that add up to 127 tons each year compared to other conventional products, thereby increasing overall energy efficiency.
During the PID, Hyosung presented its booth to match the green concept it represented (e.g., LED lighting was used to reduce energy consumption). Also, the booth itself is planned to be re-used in the future at other events.
