R&D Business Labs Sings MOU for Cutting-Edge Material Development
Exchange between two R&D facilities to pursue joint research projects
Hyosung R&D Business Labs on March 16 announced an MOU with the Power and Industrial Systems R&D Center in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. The joint project was meant to further research into cutting-edge material development. The MOU details the exchange of researchers in state-of-the-art material engineering between the two R&D institutions, pursuit of joint research projects and shared use of research facilities and equipments. The two labs are planning to launch the development of full-fledged projects for functional films, core materials for thin-film solar cells and other cutting-edge thin-film products.
In addition, the labs will aggressively collaborate to jointly work on metal and ceramic and other state-of-the-art materials in the field of convergence. According to the Changwon R&D Center’s director, Mr. Cho Gyeong-mok, the industry over the past several years has “become increasingly more interested in renewable energy,” and “the importance of thin-film materials is being recognized more.” He said, “I think what we started with the R&D Business Labs to cooperate in developing and commercializing related technologies is tremendously important, so I expect to see some really great synergies to emerge in the future.”
