    Hyosung Haiti Benefit Concert

At 8 pm on the 11th at the Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall, a Hyosung Group-sponsored benefit concert was held to help the recent quake victims in Haiti.
Curtis & Friends were the performers of the charity event, an orchestral ensemble composed of Korean musicians who trained at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
The evening’s program included Elgar’s Serenade in E Minor for String Orchestra; Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen; Chopin’s Preludes for Piano; The Shepard on the Rock by Schubert; and Barber’s Adagio for Strings — selections with a sentiment of solacing the suffering Haitian quake victims. All of the proceeds of the event go to the Haitians.
Hyosung, which donated 50,000 dollars in the previous month to the rescue operations for the earthquake-stricken Haiti, is also sponsoring Hong Myung-bo Scholarship Foundation’s charity soccer games. In addition, the company is preparing for the Mecenat corporate sponsorship for arts and music.
