- Donation accompanied by various acts of sharing — Rice of Love, Free Kimjang, Etc.
Hyosung donated 1 billion won on December 24th to the Community Chest of Korea, a charity organization.
Chairman S.R. Cho said: “This year, I see a lot of people in the community suffering financially, given the struggling economy. We are deeply concerned and involved and will continue to work hard to make sure the people will feel the spirit of sharing, care, and compassion.”
To help propagate its corporate culture of ‘practicing the spirit of sharing,’ Hyosung has been participating in a number of community-support programs funded by the company-wide initiative of donating a portion of salaries. Flagship programs include: giving out the ‘Rice of Love,’ sharing the winter stash of kimchi (Kimjang), and providing hands-on learning experience for the cognitively-delayed. In recent weeks, the company extended its programming to ensure a warm winter for lower-income families in the Mapo-gu area, where its corporate headquarters is located, by donating comforters and 45,000 briquettes as well as assisting in repairing and replacing old boiler systems.
