Winners to Receive 2009 Employee of Year and 2009 Change Leader Awards

    Recipients contribute to company by expanding markets, improving quality, etc.

    On December 10, Hyosung’s 2009 Employee of the Year and 2009 Change Leader awards took place at the conference hall of company headquarters in Mapo, Seoul. Winners of this year’s Employee of Year awards include: Cho Hyeon-bong (General manager) of Steel & Metal Products PU II; Lee Beom-ik (section chief) of Power Systems PU Global Management I; Lee Se-yong (section chief) of the New Delhi Office, Corporate Strategy Center; Chang Jae-seong (deputy head of department) of High-Pressure Transformer Design Team at Power Systems PU, Changwon Plant; and Park Jeong-chan (deputy head of department) of PET Division, Qingdao Hyosung Corporation. General manager Cho received the award for his contribution to promoting sales in newly-developed markets in Southeast Asia, where impact of the global recession were relatively minor. He had identified the needs of the Korean steel industry and launched a full market research to find new customer demands. Other award-winners — Mr. Lee (Power PU Global Management I), the other Mr. Lee (New Delhi Office, Strategic Center), and Mr. Chang (High-Pressure Transformer Design Team) — successfully secured a massive project bid on the 576kV and 500MVA transformer deal issued by India’s Central Electricity Authority (CEA), removing barriers by thorough sales strategy-planning and competitive products. Mr. Park (Qingdao Hyosung) was commended for his exemplary work in PTT production, as he had swiftly secured production technologies, improved processes and quality, and contributed to sales spurts.
    As for the Change Leader awards, Ahn Jong-seok (deputy section chief) of Interior PU, who won the Gold Prize in the individual achievement category, and seven other employees received the awards. In the group achievement category, the Hyosung Vietnamese Spandex Plant’s production team, won the gold prize, and six other teams were awarded the honors.
