MOU Signed between the Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center and Korea Gas Corporation Regarding Fuel Cell Development
-Create synergy in commercializing fuel cell system technology
The Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center and Korea Gas Corporation R&D Center (Center Chief Yeong-du Kim) signed an MOU on October 8th at the Korea Gas Corporation R&D Center for R&D and technology exchange regarding residential and commercial fuel cell system development. According to the MOU, the two R&D centers will exchange research personnel, host technology and joint training sessions, and carry out joint commercialization regarding kW grade residential and 5kW grade commercial fuel cell (PEMFC) development.
The Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center currently possesses independent system design, manufacturing, and control technology, and has been developing and delivering systems for the fuel cell system verification operation business. The Korea Gas Corporation possesses fuel processing device development technology, and has completed a joint experiment of a 1kW grade fuel processing device with the Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center.
For joint research, Korea Gas Corporation and the Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center will develop a system which loads the Korea Gas Corporation’s fuel processing device, and will jointly carry out operation and on-site application tests.
The MOU and joint research agreement regarding fuel cell development between the two groups is significant in that a system developer and energy provider are forming a future-oriented cooperative relationship with the fuel cell system providing business up ahead. Through joint research, synergy creation is expected in commercializing fuel cell system technology, renewable energy receiving the most attention, allowing the Power & Industrial Systems R&D Center to contribute in becoming a “Value Provider” leading the “Global Green Energy Business.”
