- Honored for contribution to development of distinguished functional spandex
Kang Yeon-soo, General Manager of the spandex research team at the Hyosung R&D Business Labs, won the “Engineer of the Month” award for September from the Korea Industrial Technology Association, given at the Diamond Hall in Seoul’s Plaza Hotel on September 8.
In attendance were the vice minister of Education, Science and Technology along with the heads of the association, the Munhwa Ilbo daily, the Korea Economic Daily, and YTN TV, a cable news channel. Participants also included winners’ spouses and families, as well as CEOs and executives from the companies whose staff won prizes, as the event was convened in a celebrative mood.
Kang contributed to the company’s securing the No. 2 spot in sales in the global spandex market by developing high value-added, outstanding functional products, including heat-resistant spandex, comfort spandex, and Easy-set spandex in the textile sector.
