On the 26th (morning) Hyosung Chairman Hyun-joon Cho visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea in Jongno-gu, Seoul to pay his respects to the late Nguyen Phu Trong, secretary general of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
When Chairman Cho met with Minister Counselor Nguyen Viet Anh and officials from the Vietnamese embassy in S. Korea to convey his condolences on this day, he expressed, “I pray for the eternal rest of the Secretary General who devoted his life to the development of Vietnam, and Hyosung will also commit itself toward the prosperity and future development of Vietnam.”.
Having upheld a long-standing relationship, Chairman Cho had met Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong on his visit to S. Korea in 2014 and conveyed his will to contribute to Vietnam’s economic development through close cooperation and ongoing investments between Vietnam and Hyosung.
Earlier in June, Chairman Cho visited Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh during his visit to S. Korea and discussed mutual cooperation on future business areas. At the meeting, Chairman Cho expressed his ambition to “usher in the future of Hyosung for 100 years in Vietnam,” and outlined plans to expand investments in areas such as △ bio BDO, △ IT, △ electric power equipment, △ advanced materials, and △ data centers.
Meanwhile, since Hyosung first entered Vietnam in 2008, it has invested around USD 3.5 billion to date and fostered it as a bridgehead for expanding its global market dominance. It has actively fostered new growth engines as well as top-ranked world-class products, such as spandex and tire cords, across all of Vietnam through the successes of △ the Vietnam-based affiliate and Dong Nai affiliate in the southern Ho Chi Minh City area, △ Vina Chemical affiliate in the southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, △ Quang Nam affiliate in the central Da Nang area, △ ATM manufacturing base in the northern Bac Ninh Province, etc.
