Hyosung participates in 'CHINAPLAS 2018' to make inroads into the global market Apr.24, 2018

From April 24 to April 27, Hyosung will participate in ‘CHINAPLAS 2018 (The 32nd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber),’ which will be held in Shanghai, China.

CHINAPLAS is the largest plastics and rubber trade expo in Asia. Buyers from all over the world come to take an up-close look at the latest chemical products being used as basic materials in all manufacturing industries.

Hyosung will introduce the polypropylene (PP) brand of the Chemicals PG, i.e. ‘Topilene®,’ at this expo. ‘Topilene R200P,’ possessing the largest share of the global PP market, is used as a material for pipes for supplying cold and hot water, and boasts of outstanding economic efficiency, environmental friendliness and chemical stability.

In addition to exhibiting products, Hyosung will hold 'technology seminars' for global customers to help them better understand their products. The company features an integrated production system from propane to PP based on its proprietary independent technology, the dehydrogenation process. It is planning to actively publicize ‘Topilene R200P’, the high-purity PP produced with this technology. Also, it will explain the excellence of ‘PP-B,’ a material for drainage pipes that is durable, heat-resistant and light-weight, and accelerate its efforts to advance into the special-use product market, e.g. automotive parts, high-transparency containers and convenience food packing film.

“CHINAPLAS is an important stage where we can effectively communicate the technical excellence of Hyosung PP products to the global market,” stated Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of Hyosung. “We will leverage this opportunity to listen to and apply customer feedback in various application industries, and increase our share of the high-value-added product market.”

Meanwhile, CHINAPLAS 2018 is expected to attract as many as 180,000 visitors and more than 4,000 global enterprises from over 40 countries will introduce state-of-the-art equipment, materials and technical solutions under the theme of ‘smart manufacturing, innovative materials and green solutions.’ As of 2016, China is importing about 4.75 million tons of PP (approx. $5.9 billion).※ Thus establishing China as the world’s No. 1 PP importer.
