On December 27th, Director Noh Jae-bong of the Hyosung Sharing Volunteer Corps (vice president) visited ‘Eden Welfare Foundation’, a social enterprise to create jobs for the severely disabled, which is located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do and delivered 3 hundred million won sponsorship money for the ‘Happiness Factory Modelling Program’.
The ‘Happiness Factory Modelling Program’ is a program promoted by the Eden Welfare Foundation to realize the workfare policy guaranteeing the minimum-wage level income, aside from the previous distributive welfare policy, so that the severely disabled can stand on their own feet through work.
This sponsorship money will be delivered to the ‘Happiness Factory Campaign Headquarters’ and used to make an environment necessary to secure stable jobs and also to improve working conditions of the disabled such as extension and renovation of dormitories and replacement of production facilities.
Hyosung has made continuous supports to job creation for the severely disabled, since 2014, including support to the facility improvement program at the Eden Welfare Foundation workplace and donation of more than 5,000 computers to the ‘Com-Bridge’ program which recycles computing devices.
On the other hand, Hyosung donated one hundred million won to Daegu City on December 27th to help restoration of Daegu Seomun Market damaged by fire.
The money donated by Hyosung on this day will be delivered to the Daegu Metropolitan City Office through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. At the donation ceremony, General Plant Manager Cho Choon of Hyosung’s Ulsan Plant (vice president) gave a consolation message saying “I am so sorry for the incident that Daegu Seomun Market the largest traditional market of the Youngnam area and several hundreds of small businessmen were damaged from fire” and “I wish support of the Hyosung employees may encourage those suffering small businessmen to recover as soon as possible.”
